Personal Work

My personal work is important to me as an artist. It’s largely figurative, but occasionally I’ll get tired of that and work with abstraction.*

Galapagos. 6x3’, acrylic on canvas. When we traveled in the Galapagos by small boat, the seas were very rough. But it was glorious. Artist collection.
Woman Singing, 5x9’, acrylic on canvas. I often paint images of women singing. The gift of song is the most spellbinding of all for me. The singer opens her throat and makes music with her whole body. Private collection of Scott Gibson.
Leonides, 5x9’, acrylic on canvas. A woman singing again. And the meteor shower above the hills of my hometown. Artist collection.
Garden Frenzy, 24x 30”, gouache and watercolor on canvas. Sometimes realistic images just don’t express the color and life that grows in my garden. Private collection of Michael and Rose Moores.
Number 75, 5x9’, Acrylic on venetian plaster and canvas. I have it in my bedroom and never get tired of looking at it, which must be a good sign. If I do get bored with it, it will belong to Teri Templin who loves it. Artist collection (right now).
Oregon Coast, 5x9”, Acrylic on Canvas. One time I took a trip by myself up the Oregon Coast. I went to Ecola State Park and sat on one of the huge rocks. The surf came in so hard, it made the rock shudder. This painting is about that. Artist collection.
